On Thursday, 17 July 2025, a meeting was held in the office of the Deputy Executive Director (DED) of the VBA between two representatives of the National Youth Parliament of Burkina Faso for Water (PNJBE) and two representatives of Volta Basin Authority. The meeting focused mainly on prospects for strengthening the partnership between the two organisations.
After a brief introduction of the participants, the ABV Dr. Dibi MILLOGO, gave the floor to the participants. Mr Réné BAYILI reiterated his thanks VBA for its support during the Parliamentary Session of Young People from Transboundary Basins in West African Countries in april 2024, which was attended by VBA’s Executive Director, Mr Robert DESSOUASSI.
He also expressed his desire to strengthen collaboration between VBA and PNJBE through other initiatives, including the Regional Initiative for Development, Resilience and Water Valorisation for West Africa (DREVE) and in particular its pillar 4.
In summary, it emerged from this meeting that the PNJBE and VBA will draw up a collaboration protocol to formalise their partnership in order to pool their actions for the promotion of IWRM in the Volta Basin in particular and in West Africa in general.
