The FEM-Volta Project is a regional initiative that has been designed to facilitate the integrated management, protection of natural resources and sustainable development of the Volta watershed in the six riparian countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, the Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali and Togo.
The project is specially developed to address priority regional cross-border issues that were identified during a preliminary Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA).
It is also intended to develop a more coordinated management approach based on IWRM principles at national and regional levels and, taking into account the participation of all key actors; especially the private sector and local authorities.
